Kare-Kareng Pata

I went to the grocery this morning and saw some freshly-cut pata slices.
That made me craved for a pata dish. And so i've decided to cook my favorite Kare-Kare.
Since, I didn't really plan this, i just got the available ingredients inside the small grocery.
Of course, there's no ground rice, no ox tripe, and no banana heart.

Since there's no ground rice and freshly-grinded nuts,
I just used this crunchy peanut butter.
Actually, this is the first time i'm trying this product.

Well, we better get started cause i wanna eat this for lunch.
Here's how i cooked it...

In a large pot, i boiled 1 kilo of pata slices in 2 liters of water.
Keep the pot covered for about an hour. Cook until meat is tender.
Then drain and clean the pot.

Cook the vegetables seperately while boiling the pata slices.
I only used talong, sitaw and pechay in this recipe cause
I wasn't able to find an artichoke in the grocery.
. Saute the veggies in bagoong.

For the Kare-Kare sauce.
Prepare 6 cloves of crushed garlic

Slice 1 medium-sized onion

In a seperate pan.
Prepare the atsuete oil

Saute the garlic and onion in atsuete oil using the large pot.

Add about 200gms of crunchy peanut butter, that's about 3 tablespoonfull.
Add 1 liter of water and pour the atsuete oil.

Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of bagoong.
You can also add a little salt depending on your taste.

Add more atsuete oil if necessary (for color).

When your sauce is ready,
add the boiled pata slices and put just the right amount of vegetables upon serving.
Store the extra veggies in the ref. This will prevent spoilage of your viand.
 Now, our Kare-Kare is ready!
Make sure you have plenty of rice.
Let's enjoy our meal!
